Shadowrocket Price: App Store Cost and How It Differs from Service Plans

Shadowrocket is a one-time purchase on the App Store, priced at about US$2.99 in the US storefront; other storefronts show local prices. Learn how to check in-app purchases and why the app and service plans are billed separately.

At a glance

Buying Shadowrocket gives you a license to use the app; it does not include a service plan. This guide is for anyone checking the price before buying, trying to reinstall after switching devices, or wondering whether importing an existing subscription means they need to buy the app again. Follow the steps below to check the App Store listing, payment confirmation, and your existing service separately.

1. How much does Shadowrocket cost? Check the storefront, then the checkout price

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app sold exclusively through the App Store as a one-time purchase. The US storefront lists it at about US$2.99. This is a price reference, not a fixed price across all storefronts. Other storefronts display prices in local currencies, so converting the US price at an exchange rate won't tell you the amount you'll actually be charged.

The final amount may vary due to price changes, storefront currency, and taxes at checkout. Before buying, check the current App Store listing and the system payment confirmation screen. Any foreign transaction fees charged by your bank are separate from the app's listed price.

Bottom line: Confirm the price on the system payment screen

Check the app ID and developer, then review the currency and amount on the purchase confirmation screen. If anything looks different from what you expected, cancel and check the listing again. Don't rely on an old price shown in search results.

2. Verify the listing and device compatibility before buying

A similar name doesn't mean it's the same app. Verify the product name, Shadowrocket, the developer, Shadow Launch Technology Limited, and app ID 932747118. Compare the official icon with the one shown on this site's app verification page and the App Store listing; don't identify the listing by the nickname alone.

  1. Open the App Store listing from the app verification page and check the name and developer.
  2. Check the price button. If you've already purchased the app, your account may show a cloud download icon or an Open button instead of the purchase price.
  3. Expand the compatibility section and check whether your device and system meet the requirements before buying.
  4. Review the system purchase confirmation screen and verify the account, currency, and amount before completing the purchase.

Shadowrocket is primarily for iPhone and iPad. For Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision, check the compatibility section in the App Store listing. System requirements and whether the purchase is universal are determined by the listing. Availability on one device doesn't guarantee compatibility or coverage on another.

3. What the app purchase covers—and what it doesn't

The app purchase is not a service plan. Buying Shadowrocket gives you the right to use the app to manage servers, apply rules, and establish connections. The validity period, data allowance, number of simultaneous devices, and availability of any service you already have are governed by your agreement with that service provider. Paying through the App Store does not create a server or add credit to an existing subscription.

What's billed: check the app and your existing service separately

Shadowrocket app
  • Purchased once through the App Store.
  • Check your purchase in the App Store records for the Apple Account used to buy it.
  • Home manages connections, Config manages configurations, and Settings manages app preferences.
  • Reinstalling the app does not restore all local configurations.
Your existing service
  • Validity, data allowance, and device limits depend on your service agreement.
  • A subscription updates server information; it is not an App Store purchase record for the app.
  • An expired service does not erase your app purchase record.
  • Keep your service credentials and subscription links secure.

This site does not provide, sell, or recommend servers or subscriptions. The setup instructions below assume you already have your own service and subscription.

The word “subscription” can mean two different things here. On the App Store, it usually means a recurring charge managed by Apple. In Shadowrocket, an imported server subscription is a link used to retrieve server information. Even if it's called a subscription, it won't appear in your Apple Account's subscription management page.

4. How to check for in-app purchases

“One-time purchase” describes how the app itself is bought; it doesn't tell you what every additional item in the store listing is. To check for in-app purchases, their names, and their prices, open the information section of the current App Store listing. Section labels may vary by storefront language and system interface, so use the wording shown on your device.

  1. Open the Shadowrocket App Store listing, scroll down to the app information, and look for In-App Purchases.
  2. If that section is present, expand it and review each item and its price. Don't rely only on information shown in search results.
  3. To check whether an item has recurring charges, read the system purchase confirmation details for its billing period, renewal terms, and price.
  4. To review a charge that has already been made, go to App Store → Account → Purchase History. To check recurring items managed by Apple, open Subscriptions in your account.

If an item isn't shown on the product page, don't assume it's still available based on a forum screenshot or an old article. Purchase History helps verify completed purchases; Subscriptions shows recurring items. Neither replaces the other. This guide doesn't assume any specific in-app purchase, price, or purpose; check the current App Store listing for what's actually available.

5. Reinstalling on a new device: purchase history isn't a configuration backup

Within the applicable purchase terms, you can use the same Apple Account to redownload an app you've already bought. Device compatibility, storefront availability, and whether the purchase is universal are determined by the App Store listing. If the new device shows a price again, check which account you're using for App Store purchases before paying a second time.

“Restore purchases” doesn't mean “restore the server list.” App purchase records, existing subscription links, Config files, and local settings are separate types of data. Before switching devices, use the export or backup options currently available in the app to save any configuration you need. Treat backups containing passwords, keys, or full subscription links as sensitive data.

Being able to install the app on two devices with the same account doesn't mean your service allows both to connect at the same time. Simultaneous device limits depend on your service agreement; cross-device purchase rights depend on the App Store listing. Check these separately.

6. Bought the app but can't connect? Check the setup before paying again

After buying the app, you'll still need to import a server or subscription from a service you already have. In Home, check the server list and selected server, turn on the connection, and follow the system prompts to allow adding a VPN configuration. Then run Connectivity Test. The result reflects connectivity under the test conditions; it doesn't replace checking access to the destination you need.

Global Routing determines how connections are routed; it isn't a pricing tier. When troubleshooting, note your original settings and change only one variable at a time. The options below compare three routing modes in Shadowrocket, not different prices.

Config

Rule-based

Choose a policy based on the rules in the current Config. Rules such as DOMAIN-SUFFIX, IP-CIDR, and GEOIP match traffic; FINAL selects a policy when none of the preceding rules match. An unmatched connection doesn't automatically use DIRECT.

Best for: everyday use when you've checked your configuration rules and need different routes for different destinations

Proxy

Route connections handled by Shadowrocket through a proxy, instead of choosing a route for each one using standard rules. This mode can't fix an expired service, incorrect credentials, or an unreachable server.

Best for: briefly testing the proxy route to see whether rule selection is causing different access results

Direct

Use a direct connection. This mode doesn't test whether a proxy server is working. If a destination opens in this mode, it only shows that the direct route was reachable at that moment.

Best for: checking direct access on your current network and ruling out an issue with the destination itself

Global Routing may also use Scene, which applies the settings for an existing scene. When troubleshooting, first check the scene conditions and the routing result in effect. Initial values depend on what the current app displays. Settings → On Demand lets you review connection triggers; it doesn't change the one-time purchase or extend an existing service.

Bottom line: Match the symptom to the right settings or account

For app access issues, check App Store purchase history. For server authentication, check your existing service credentials. For routing differences, review Global Routing and Config. Identifying where the problem occurs helps avoid treating a settings issue as a reason to pay again.

7. Checklist before and after purchase

Before buying, verify the listing, price, and compatibility. After buying, focus on configuration and connectivity. Use this checklist for a first purchase, a reinstall on a new device, or questions about duplicate charges. You don't need to change every network setting first.

  1. Verify the product name, Shadowrocket; developer, Shadow Launch Technology Limited; and app ID 932747118.
  2. Check the current storefront price and purchase confirmation. The US price of about US$2.99 isn't a fixed price worldwide.
  3. Check the compatibility section. System requirements and whether the purchase is universal are determined by the App Store listing.
  4. If you have a purchase record, check the account and purchased apps first. Don't confirm another payment until you've verified the details.
  5. Keep the app purchase and any existing service bills separate. Check app purchase rights and service validity independently.
  6. After importing an existing configuration, review Home, Config, and Settings. Keep a record of your original settings so you can restore them if needed.
